With weeks left of summer, I'm focused on making the most of the remaining sunny days ahead. From beach trips to patio hang-outs, here's my top summer essentials for making the most of our favourite season.
ROSE WATER TONER
I learned from my recent trip to South Korea that rose water can be used as a toner. I've been using the Mamonde Rosewater toner, however it's not available here in Toronto, so I recommend trying Fresh Rose Floral Toner which is available at Sephora. Rose water is good for all skin types and balances your PH level.
AVENE SPRING WATER SPRAY
Avene thermal spring water will be your trusty summer companion, especially if you are traveling, need a post-workout refresher, or like to freshen up your make-up. It comes in a travel size and a regular size, and is available at your nearby drugstore! Pick it up if you have sensitive skin and want to re-hydrate your skin after sun exposure.
BALI BODY TANNING LOTION
STAINLESS STEEL STRAWS
As I turn to lighter and healthier fare during the warmer months, smoothies are one of my favourite options for snacking on-the-go. Your smoothie can be good for your body as well as the environment with the use of a metal straw (which I got on Amazon). Many restaurants and bars in Toronto are participating the anti-straw movement, which has heightened our awareness of the need to replace plastic straws with reusable ones!
If you're on the hunt for comfortable and cute bikinis, Fenntessa swimwear has got you covered. This Vancouver-based line offers a selection of cheeky bottoms and bralette tops in soft fabrications and subtle colours. Sizes go fast, so check out our latest offering in-store.
Australian-based Quay sunglasses are ah-mazing. Trend-setting styles at reasonable price-points make this brand a cult-favourite among celebrities and style influencers. Check out our website for the latest arrivals of Quay sunglasses.
I've been on a hunt for a really good texture spray to keep my permed hair styled for a few days. What's really good about texture spray is that it not only lifts your hair, but it works as a dry shampoo. I recommend Barber & Fritz Fleur de Sol - available at The Cure Apothecary.
I started my journey with pilates a few months ago and I initially started because of previous injuries. I have never felt so good and relaxed after working out - and that post-workout feel lasted for two days! I've been going to Muse Movement and I absolutely feel better every time I attend a class. If you're thinking about starting pilates, try the reformer class!
